Boston’s own skate and streetwear store, Concepts, has come together with sneaker brand, Asics, to honor one of the city's historical landmarks, the Statue of John Harvard, also known as "The Statue of Three Lies". This collaboration takes inspiration from the statue’s shoe, the color mostly, featuring premium green suede for the upper. But why is CNCPTS making a sneaker based off an old statue's shoe? Well the significance is that over time this statue’s shoe has become somewhat of a good luck charm and visitors of the landmark have taken to rubbing the shoe triggering the toe area to change color. That's where this goldish / almost copper like color comes from on the Gel Lyte III's perforated toe box. The rest of the sneaker features a speckled grey midsole and teal inner liner. The Concepts x ASICS Gel Lyte III is a unique collaborative sneaker, so don't miss out when it drops at Concepts soon.
